Solskjaer: I'm so proud of my players
You can't afford to miss Ole's post-match interview with Stewart Gardner, reflecting on a dramatic win over Spurs...
What pleased you most? “Character again. When you get the injustice and adversity, that decision [to disallow the goal] is just shocking and to come together. Yeah, we lost our focus for maybe a few moments and minutes and unfortunately conceded a goal. But we came together and composed ourselves. We went there with a team on a mission, they looked like a team on a mission, that this is not going to derail our season.” Everybody was baffled as to why the goal was disallowed… That’s the point. Everyone can make the decision, it maybe wrong or not, he made his decision to play on. You can argue it’s maybe a foul or not a foul but it’s not a clear and obvious mistake. That is the point. Even though it kickstarted us, it was a great goal by Edinson and a good pass by Paul. We felt hard done by and it was great to see the team come together again. We’ve done it so many times. Did that make us determined to drive on in the second half? Definitely. You can see the team spirit, they back each other up but we needed half-time to compose ourselves. We can do this, come on. In the second half, I’m so proud of my players. The effort in the first half an hour looked like a team that had travelled to Spain on Thursday night. That’s the thing, we’ve travelled around the world, or Europe, and back and put on a performance like this. All credit to the players, they are sometimes criticised for not hitting the top level but the last 45 minutes or hour was top, top quality. Will you be having to check Edinson’s birth certificate? They were very, very good goals. He was even defending at the back stick there from Paul’s misplaced header from a corner. Everyone just dug in and did a professional job, an away professional job to get a result but some of the football was more than professional. It was high, high quality. Mason made a real impact as a substitute… “The cross is something we worked on and Edinson's movement, of course he is excellent. And that goal, that shows what Mason has improved on this season. Normally, defenders want to show him down the right side. Okay, if you want to show him down the right, on the outside, he's got a good right foot as well. Great goal." 28 points from losing positions are these some of the best moments? "You know, when you feel hard done by, to come together like they did – the players worked so hard together. They looked tired towards the end but that was natural having been in Spain. We dug out the result in that game as well."
