Fosu-Mensah: It was hard, but worth it!
"You work for such a long time for moments like this," explains Tim in our post-match interview...
That was your first United game in three years – how did it feel? It feels good. I’m happy to play for the club again, but I’m more happy that we got the win today. I don’t recall you playing left-back before, so do you feel comfortable there? Comfortable is a big word but I’ve played there before, I think I made my debut against Arsenal and came on as a left-back. I’ve not played there for a long time but I can play lots of positions. It’s been a long road back, how did you feel? You lasted the whole game... It was hard, it was hard. But that’s what you work such a long time for, all these months, for moments like this. This is football and anything can happen so you have to be ready, especially at a club like this. You have to be ready and I was ready for this moment. Was it good ground to come back at Palace? Yeah it was quite special. Every time I step on this pitch it’s a special feeling because I had a nice season here, with some great people so it’s special. What did you make of the performance overall? They pushed you all the way… They did well but as I say for us the most important thing was the three points. Marcus and Anthony have scored 44 goals between them now. They’re a threat… Top players, both top players. Very good guys as well. A lot of qualities between those two players, so it doesn’t surprise me they keep scoring. Did you feel the pressure after the Leicester result? We know that if we win every game left this season we are in the Champions League next season so that’s the focus. We have to keep going, keep going and keep going. Definitely.
