Lindelof: We did it perfectly
TranscriptThe Swede says that if United continue to keep clean sheets, few teams will be able to stop our marauding forwards...
That must have been a pleasing performance to take part in, Victor? "Yeah, great. We played against a really strong side, and to keep a clean sheet and to score five is obviously great for us. I think when they had the ball, we managed to control it quite good. They didn't create a lot of chances and then at the end of the game we managed to kill it off. So we're very pleased with the win." They are the sort of team you have to really defensively concentrate on the way they play? That's exactly what you guys seemed to do tonight? "Yeah, exactly. You always have to be ready for anything, because we now they're technically very good with the ball and they play a lot of one-twos. They are a very, very good team so you always have to be concentrated for anything. But we did it perfectly today, defensively and obviously offensively as well, because we scored five goals!" And your own form and the way you played in Paris and against Chelsea and tonight, do you feel you're playing some of your best stuff for United at the moment? "Yeah, I feel good. The body is feeling great, you know? I'm getting the rhythm of the games and I'm starting to... because we've played a lot of games so it's natural that you get into it more. So I'm very pleased with the form that I have at the moment. Hopefully I can keep going and help the team to keep more clean sheets and to win some more games." And if you can keep clean sheets, the firepower, as we saw tonight, that we've got - off the bench even - is amazing isn't it? "Yeah, we know that as a team but obviously as a defensive unit, with David as well, we know that if we keep a clean sheet that the guys up front they will create chances. Most of the time they will score goals as well. So our job is always to try and keep it locked down in the back, because like you say we have a lot of good power and great guys up there." Pleased for Marcus? He can do no wrong, can he? "I'm very, very happy for him. To come in and score three goals like that - it's unbelievable! I think when he came on he changed the game completely. The things with the ball and the chances he created... He's a fantastic player and I'm very, very happy for him." Finally, the group looks great for us, doesn't it, with six points from two very, very difficult games? "Yeah, it's a great start to the Champions League campaign. We had Paris away, a very difficult game, and managed to get a win there, then Leipzig at home, who are a very, very strong team as well. So we're very pleased with two wins out of two, and hopefully we can keep winning games."
