Lindelof: We controlled the game
The Sweden centre-back was happy at keeping another clean sheet, our third in a row in all competitions...
Q: Just frustrating that we couldn't get the breakthrough at the other end. VL: Yeah, yeah. Obviously we wanted to win and get the three points, so it's a bit frustrating, but overall I thought we controlled the game well and they didn't create a lot of chances, and we kept another clean sheet, so we want to create a little bit more up front and to score a goal, but yeah, it is what it is. Q: You know what it's like, to come here from Portuguese football. How did you think Bruno got on today? VL: It's not easy to come in here. I think he's had one training session and to come in and play is not easy, but I think he did a good job and showed what kind of qualities he can give us. So hopefully now when we have the break he can train a bit more with the team, get to know all the players and everything and then I think it's going to be much easier for him as well. Q: Obviously you've played a lot of football recently, in the last month or two particularly. So is the break coming at the right time? VL: It's hard. Like you've said we've been playing a lot of games. So it's going to be nice to get a few days off to rest. We want to keep going, we've got to take this break to recharge our batteries, so we can come back even stronger for the second part of the season and, yeah, try to perform good football and win a lot of games, because that's our main goal, so we have to be clever when we have this break and use it well. Q: Your partnership with Harry, how much do you think that has developed since the season has gone on? You're basically playing every game together. VL: Yeah, the more games you play together the easier it gets, so he's a fantastic player and we train every day and play a lot of games now, so for every game that we play we get better and better, so hopefully we can keep improving and get to know each other even more and hopefully we can keep more clean sheets together. Q: The gap to Chelsea stays at six points, but it's Chelsea we're playing next, so that really is a chance to close the gap. VL: Yeah, it's a very important game for us and we're going to be well prepared for that game and hopefully we can do some good things and close that gap a little bit, because that's what we want to do. Q: With some new players coming in and some coming back, when you look ahead to the rest of the season, trying to get in the top four, FA Cup, Europa League, do you still think it could be a good last two or three months of the campaign? VL: Yeah of course and we always have to believe in ourselves and I think we have a good possibility to do some good stuff in the next part of the season. So if we can just keep going, keep working hard and do the right things on the pitch we can do some good stuff.
