Ole's verdict on Alkmaar draw
The boss reacts to our Europa League stalemate, in his post-match interview for MUTV...
Are you satisfied with a point in the end Ole tonight? “Very happy with the boys. We come away with a good performance. Should be three points of course because it’s a nailed on penalty, you can’t even discuss it. It’s a team that’s just beaten Feyenoord 3-0 away from home. We’ve been to Feyenoord ourselves over the years and this is a good performance and a good point against a good opponent on a very difficult or a bad surface.” In the commentary we assumed it must be a penalty – and you saw the replay and you think it’s hard to think what are you thinking there? “I just couldn’t believe what I saw. Same as Arsenal. You know the handball. Should have been 2-0. It’s just frustrating for us now getting these little things because the boys deserved so much more and that’s what I feel for them that it’s going to turn at one point, they’ll get those decisions and then they’ll get the results they deserve.” Brandon, we’ve spoken about him beforehand. How do you think he got on? “Top class, top performance, for a full debut you’re just so happy for him, you know, he’s got no fear. He’s brave, he wants the ball, he takes people on, he tackles, he’s physical. Very happy for him.” Four points from the opening two games, back to back games with Belgrade to go. It’s not a bad position to be in after the first two? “If you get your draws away from home and you win your home games you’ll be fine. Of course, we’re going to go to Belgrade hoping to get a win. That sets us up nicely.” Jesse nearly won it and then unfortunately it looked like he got possibly a hamstring towards the end? “Yeah I think he felt his hamstring a little bit. I don’t think it’s too bad. Probably not Newcastle but be ready for Liverpool.”
