UEFA Champions League sponsor Sony is bringing fans closer to the match with specially designed High Definition pubs.
The first pub of its kind outside London is The Varsity in Manchester. This popular haunt in Wilmslow Road, Didsbury is receiving an exclusive hi-tech makeover in time for the Barcelona v United match on Wednesday 23 April.
The latest Sony BRAVIA TVs will allow fans to watch the action in incredible detail while the surround sound systems generate a stadium-like atmosphere. And as if that wasn't enough, there will also be Barcelona-style tapas on offer plus Playstation 3 consoles so fans can play their own games before the Champions League semi final kicks off.
Fans are encouraged to turn up early on the evening, as the pub is likely to be packed with people wanting to see United and enjoy The Varsity's fantastic and permanent new facilities for the first time.
The Varsity is the third of Sony’s HD pubs. The Morrison in Chelsea and The Junction in Islington opened earlier this month and further pubs are planned across the country.
