United Academy among most productive in the world
Manchester United's Academy is one of the most revered in world football.
Now into its 85th year, the United Academy has been on an incredible run of having a youth product in every Reds matchday squad.
That record continues to be extended with every passing game and, in comparison to other clubs in the world, we are among the most productive.
The 436th CIES Football Observatory records the rankings of teams that have trained the most players who are active in 48 of the world's major leagues.
Ajax's famous youth system tops the rankings, with 86 players trained, while the likes of fellow Premier League clubs Liverpool and Chelsea have developed 33 players who are currently active in the world's top leagues.
United, on the other hand, have a total of 47 and are therefore the highest English team on the list.
