Manchester United's Premier League 2 game at Southampton, due to be played on Friday night, has been postponed.

The Under-21s' latest match was set to be shown live on MUTV but, unfortunately, the harsh wintry weather affecting the country on Thursday has led to the early cancellation of the fixture.

The appropriately named Snows Stadium pitch will not be playable as it is currently waterlogged.

The Reds' Premier League 2 fixture with Liverpool has been rescheduled.

Travis Binnion's youngsters have had two outings so far in 2024, narrowly losing 3-2 away to Chelsea and then beating Norwich City 4-2 at Old Trafford, with all four goals coming from Sam Mather.

The next scheduled fixture is now the Manchester derby with City at Leigh Sports Village on Monday 19 February, although the Saints encounter will be rearranged with details to follow in due course.

United's Under-18s are slated to face Derby County, away from home, on Saturday afternoon.

The match starts at 12:00 GMT and is to be broadcast live on MUTV, providing it does not fall foul of the snowy weather.
