Friends of the Academy
Friends of the Academy
At the Manchester United we believe that knowledge should be shared, which is why we set up our ‘Friends of the Academy’ initiative in 2022.
The scheme affords clubs, coaches and young players in the North West the opportunity to directly engage with United and learn more about the way we do things.
Sessions include coaching clinics, guest-speaker events and participants have access to accredited FA Continuous Professional Development hours.
The Head of the Academy, Nick Cox, and our staff deliver the sessions to the coaches and young players who sign up.
“The Friends of the Academy initiative is yet another aspect of our programme that is specifically designed to support the local football ecosystem. Involving and engaging with our community is fundamental to everything that we do at the Academy, and we are therefore hugely committed to our presence and activity across the region.”- Nick Cox, Head of Manchester United Academy.
“It’s such an exciting and refreshing initiative from one of the world’s biggest football clubs; proving that grassroots football is alive and playing an integral role in the future of the elite game. It’s an honour to be part of it.”- Luke Irlam, attendee.
