Role purpose

To support the smooth operation of the kitchens by maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene and safety of the kitchen environment, ultimately contributing to the overall success of the food service operation.

Skills and experience

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete all online training allocated by the club within the deadlines given.
  • Washing, rinsing, sanitizing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment. This ensures cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen.
  • Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment by regularly cleaning surfaces, floors and equipment. Preventing cross-contamination.
  • Ensure food residue is off dishes and kitchen utensils before sorting and loading racks of dirty dishes into a professional dishwashing machine.
  • Sort and return clean plates to their proper storage spot.
  • Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during busy periods and assisting with tasks as needed.
  • Report any maintenance issues, shortages or incidents to the appropriate supervisor or manager.
  • Flexibility to adapt to various tasks and responsibilities as required by the kitchen’s needs.
  • Adhering to Health and Safety standards by following hygiene and safety protocols, including proper handling of chemicals and cleaning agents.
  • Proper disposal of food waste, recycling and general kitchen waste in accordance with hygiene and environmental regulations

Requirements:

  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and willingness to learn.
  • Basic understanding of hygiene and sanitation practices is a plus.
  • Willingness to adhere to health and safety regulations and guidelines.
