As well as all Manchester United home games, Old Trafford will host a number of events including the Rugby Super League Final, Rugby League World Cup Finals, Women’s Euro 2022, and charity matches. 
We are currently recruiting for hospitality managers to work on match days in a number of our restaurant and box areas. These areas range from informal sport bars to fine dining restaurants and boxes. The matchdays that you would be expected to work can take place on Saturdays and Sundays (various start times), as well as Mondays, Tuesday and Wednesdays (start times from 1.30pm).

 

Room Manager-

Reports to- Area Manager/Deputy Head of Catering

 

Duties and Responsibilities- Include but not limited to-

- Overseeing service with restaurant or box area
- Delivering effective briefing to all team members
- Labour spend management
- Training delivery
- Cash management
- Customer service management
 - Various reporting, from EPOS to service review

 

Skills and Experience-
- Previous management experience within a restaurant or similar sports/event venue is essential
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Strong organisational skills
- Knowledge of food and drink service
- Ability to remain calm under pressure

Job Title: Match Day Hospitality Supervisor

Reports To: Match Day Hospitality Manager

Department: Staffing Department

Job Type: Casual

Location: Old Trafford Stadium

 

The Role:

The successful candidate will support one of our talented Match Day Hospitality Managers with the running of one of our busy restaurant or executive box areas for each first team home fixture at Old Trafford.

 

As a Supervisor you will work closely with the Restaurant Manager, be trained and involved in every aspect of the running of the restaurant including the development of staff and leading a great team to deliver fantastic customer service. You will have the confidence and skills required to add both value and new ideas to the team. You must fully understand the role of the staff members you are responsible for in conjunction with the manager, maintaining standards set at all times with regards to set up and service of the dining and bar areas. A committed, ‘can do’ and dedicated attitude is required. You must be able to provide leadership and guidance to the staff with the ability to motivate and inspire, while working as part of a team with passion and determination to succeed.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • To work alongside the Room Manager to ensure a smooth and efficient service to our guests.
  • Supervise the team on a match day delegating various responsibilities
  • Immaculate appearance and well groomed
  • Carry out tasks requested by management
  • Liaise with management team with regards to the performance of the restaurant
  • Have a keen interest in food and beverage
  • Operate in a clean and tidy manner and be very customer focused
  • Take ownership of your responsibilities, striving to do better
  • Strong minded character with the ability to deal with difficult situations and respond to them effectively
  • Exceptional attention to detail being able to adapt to working environments
  • You must be flexible, extremely organised with good interpersonal skills
  • A high level of communication and initiative is required
  • Assist the Manager and add input to the briefing of all staff within your area
  • Carry out satisfaction checks with all guests in a sincere manner
  • Cash handling, ensuring sales are recorded accurately
  • Promote good staff and interpersonal relations at all times
  • Assist with the training and development of the team to maintain the highest of standards
  • To adhere to help enforce all Health and Safety standards, company rules, regulations and policies at all times

 

Experience of supervising in a similar restaurant environment is desired but not essential.
