Introduction:

(I) Manchester United is hosting a virtual fan event in connection with the Manchester United v Aston Villa football match taking place on 9 May 2021 (the “Virtual Fan Event”). 

(II) The Virtual Fan Event will be streamed live at 20:00 CST across Manchester United’s official Weibo, Douyin and Youku channels and will be accessible to all fans in China.

(III) During the Virtual Fan Event, Manchester United intends to run a live quiz, giving a number of contestants selected by MU (in accordance with the terms set out below), to take part in the quiz for a chance to win a prize (details of the prize are below) (the “Quiz”). 

(IV) If you would like to take part in the live quiz during the Virtual Fan Event, please read all of the terms and conditions below. The terms and conditions apply to anyone submitting an application form who would like to be considered by MU for the opportunity to participate in the Quiz. 

(V) The promoter of this competition is Manchester United Football Club Limited (“MU”) (whose registered office is Old Trafford, Sir Matt Busby Way, Manchester M16 0RA). The Prize Draw is Sponsored by Aeroflot Russian Airlines (“Aeroflot”).

Please note: by applying to take part in the Quiz, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions set out in Parts A, B and C of these terms and conditions and, you confirm that all information submitted is true, accurate and complete. MU reserves the right to verify the eligibility of any and all applicants and may, in its sole discretion, disqualify any applicant that fails to satisfy the eligibility requirements. Applicants shall at all times act in good faith towards MU and the Quiz.

PART A - How to enter to apply for the chance to participate in the Quiz: 

1. MU will select 4 competitors to take part in the Quiz. If you would like to apply to take part in the Quiz you will need to: (i) complete an online application form available : https://xd.wayin.com/display/container/dc/a060724c-f4b1-48a6-b015-0738be48c900/details ; (ii) complete the applicable data entry fields on the application form; and (iii) answer three questions posed by MU on the application form. 

2. Anyone who answers all three questions posed by MU correctly will be shortlisted by MU for the chance to participate in the Quiz. MU’s decision as to which answers are correct and therefore which applicants are shortlisted will be final.

3. MU will select four Quiz competitors from the shortlisted applicants (who shall be the “Contestants”). Anyone submitting an application form hereby agrees and accepts that MU’s decision concerning the selection of the Contestants is final and binding and you agree not to challenge or appeal against MU’s decision. 

4. If you are selected, MU may conduct background checks (which may include checks on your social media accounts) in order to verify any of the information you have supplied and you agree to provide MU with any assistance or further information necessary to do this. This could include checks of information that is publicly available online. 

5. Participation in the Quiz is only available to applicants who are: (i) aged eighteen (18) years or over at the time of the application; and (ii) legal residents of China.

6. Employees of MU and Aeroflot and/or any of their associated companies or subsidiaries (and their families) are excluded from participating in the Quiz and should not apply.  

7. Submitting an application and participation in the Quiz is free (except for any applicable data usage charges) and, is on the basis of one application per person.

8. The deadline to apply to take part in the Quiz is 23:59 BST on 2 May 2021 (the "Closing Date") and any entries received after the Closing Date will not be considered by MU. 

PART B 
If you are selected by MU to take part in the Quiz you will need to comply with the terms set out in this Part B. Anyone who applies to take part in the Quiz is required to review and agree to the following terms prior to completing the application process described in Part A above. 
9. Quiz Contestants hereby acknowledge and agree:

(i) to abide by all the rules of the Quiz and the Virtual Fan Event as may be communicated by MU;

(ii) not to do anything during the Quiz which would bring MU or Aeroflot into disrepute or prejudice the successful exploitation of the Quiz and any such disrepute or prejudice may result in disqualification from the Quiz; 

(iii) to be available at such times as MU shall require. If a Contestant is unable to participate in the Quiz MU reserves the right to select a new Contestant from the shortlisted applicants;  

(iv) that they are individually responsible for all costs (if any) associated with accessing the Quiz and Virtual Fan Event including but not limited to mobile network usage costs, data usage costs and costs associated with using the internet; 

(v) that if access to the Quiz is terminated or dis-connected due to technical reasons or, for any other reason (including, but not limited to by MU, as a result of a Contestant’s non - compliance with these terms) that a Contestant may not be able to re-join after they have been dis-connected;

(vi) that the Quiz will take place through a video sharing platform of MU’s choice and that it will start at a time and date and be for a duration specified by MU and communicated to each Contestant;

(vii) to conduct themselves appropriately at all times during the Quiz and that MU can terminate access to the Quiz if it considers that a Contestant is not acting in accordance with this paragraph; 

(viii) not to take any take any screenshots, photographs or video recordings during the Quiz; and

(ix) that MU reserves the right to disable the connection between any Contestant and the platform used to feature the Quiz if, in MU’s absolute discretion, it considers that: (i) someone is acting offensively or inappropriately; (ii) someone has gained unauthorised access; and/or (iii) if someone is considered to be using the platform to promote the interests of a third party or their own goods or services. 

10. Contestants are required to have access to the video sharing platform chosen by MU which may have applicable terms and conditions which the Contestants may be required to accept. 

PART C – the Prize and the Winner 

11. The winner of the Quiz shall win a virtual meet and greet with a Manchester United player (the “Prize”). 

12. MU reserves the right to substitute the Prize with another of a similar nature at any time. 

13. The Prize is non-transferable and there is no cash alternative.

14. MU does not guarantee who the Manchester United first team player taking part in the Prize will be and MU will not enter into any correspondence with the Winner (defined below) regarding the identity of the player taking part in the virtual meet and greet.  

The Winner

15. There will be one winner of the Quiz. The winner will be the Contestant who answers the most correct answers during the Quiz (the “Winner”). In the event of a tie MU shall ask tie-breaker questions until there is a winner. 

16. MU’s decision as to who is Winner is final and MU will not enter into any correspondence. 

17. The Winner will be announced immediately after the Quiz during the Virtual Fan Event. 

18. The Winner will be required to give their consent to the Winner’s name and county to be disclosed to any person requesting that MU confirms the identity of the Winner, and for promotional purposes. The Winner may raise any concerns regarding this paragraph with MU.  

19. Subject to paragraph 18 above, details of the Winner’s surname and county will be made available to the public upon request from Manchester United Football Club Limited, Sir Matt Busby Way, Old Trafford, Manchester M16 0RA two weeks after the Closing Date (subject to data protection legislation).
Footage of the Quiz and the Meet and Greet: 

20. Anyone applying to take part in the Quiz (including the Winner) acknowledges, agrees and accepts that: 
(i) MU may record, take footage and screenshots of the Quiz and the Virtual Fan Event at any and all times and the Contestants and the Winner may feature in the video recording, footage or images (the “Content”);

(ii) MU shall own the Content and all intellectual property rights in it; 

(iii) MU may use the Content however it chooses for example, but without limitation, MU may use the Content in conjunction with other third-party content and/or use the Content as part of MU’s commercial campaigns; 

(iv) MU does not guarantee that the Content will be used and/or featured for any particular purpose and, MU cannot guarantee that all Contestants and the Winner will feature in it; 

(v) if MU does choose to use the Content (in whole or in part) then MU may do so anywhere in the World, on any media including, but not limited to, on MU webpages (including but not limited to www.manutd.com), any MU social media channels, on MU’s MUTV channel and at any physical location (for example, banners, posters and digi-boards); and

(vi) MU may or may let other people use, reproduce, modify or edit the Content or make things inspired by it for us.

General terms:

21. To the extent legally permissible, MU shall have no liability whatsoever to anyone who applies to take part in the Quiz for any reasons whatsoever including, but not limited to:

(i) if the Virtual Fan Event is cancelled, postponed, delayed or re-arranged or, if a Contestant cannot take part on the date and time specified by MU; 

(ii) if a Contestant is refused access to the Quiz for failing to adhere to any applicable terms or conditions; 

(iii) a Contestants cannot access the platform for any reason whatsoever; and/or

(iv) due to any technical failure or malfunction and/or any other problem with any network, server, system or otherwise which the video sharing platform selected by MU to host the Virtual Fan Event.

22. MU cannot guarantee that the system and/or service used to host the Virtual Fan Event will be free from errors, omissions or that it will be available or uninterrupted at all times.

23. MU reserves the right to cancel or amend these terms and conditions without notice when reasonably necessary for the purpose of administering the Quiz and the Prize.

24. These terms and conditions shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
