Confirmed: United XI to face Young Boys

Tuesday 14 September 2021 16:30

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made three changes to the Manchester United side which won so handsomely at the weekend, ahead of the clash with Young Boys tonight.

In come Victor Lindelof, Fred and – making his first start of the season – Donny van de Beek.

Raphael Varane, Nemanja Matic and Mason Greenwood drop out, but Cristiano Ronaldo is in the starting XI and equals former Real Madrid team-mate Iker Casillas’s record of 177 Champions League appearances.

Paul Pogba will be looking to add to his seven assists for the campaign already and the Frenchman has fond memories of Wankdorf Stadium, having scored a brace at the ground on our last visit in September 2018.

United have 11 players to call upon from the bench tonight, with five replacements available for Solskjaer during the game.

Youngsters Matej Kovar and Anthony Elanga are among them, alongside summer signings Tom Heaton and Varane.
