Confirmed: February's Goal of the Month
Antony’s unerring finish against Barcelona has been voted as Manchester United’s Goal of the Month for February.
With the score level at 1-1, and extra-time very much a possibility following our 2-2 draw with the Catalans a week earlier, our no.21 curled a pinpoint effort into the bottom corner, sending United into the Europa League round of 16.
It was trademark Antony, as the 23-year-old whipped the ball fiercely with his left foot beyond Marc-Andre ter Stegen, and it was promptly followed by jubilant celebrations at Old Trafford.
It was a scenario we have come to expect from the winger, with Antony having scored similar goals against Manchester City and Charlton earlier in the season – the former of these strikes also winning our Goal-of-the-Month award, for October.

THE CONTENDERS
Antony’s goal topped the fan vote by just two per cent, with Marcus Rashford – who was also named our Player of the Month for February – finishing second with his leveller away to Barcelona at the Nou Camp.
Antony attracted a whopping 28 per cent of the backing, while Marcus gained 26 per cent.
There was one other goal that got into double figures: Casemiro’s powerful header in the Carabao Cup final.
United's no.18 rose high to open the scoring in our eventual 2-0 triumph over Newcastle, and that goal was chosen by 11 per cent of voters for the award.
Making up our four most backed efforts is Alejandro Garnacho’s super finish away to Leeds. Rashford had already opened the scoring in the closing stages at Elland Road with a header, but Garnacho raced on to a forward pass from Wout Weghorst and walloped he ball in off the inside of the left post, sealing a 2-0 win in Yorkshire.
Alejandro’s strike garnered seven per cent of the votes, and he recently followed it up with a curled finish against West Ham – which is already a contender for our March award!
