Manchester United are going back to Wembley, after coming from behind to defeat Fulham 3-1 in our FA Cup quarter-final at Old Trafford.

After a closely fought first half, the match exploded into life in the second period, with the visitors taking the lead through Aleksandar Mitrovic before a whirlwind few minutes saw United awarded a penalty and Willian, Mitrovic and manager Marco Silva dismissed for the Cottagers.

Bruno Fernandes dispatched the resulting spot-kick before a superb flick from Marcel Sabitzer edged the Reds ahead. Bruno added a third late on, to put the result beyond any doubt.

Brighton and Hove Albion await Erik ten Hag’s side in the semi-finals at Wembley, but which of our players was voted star man after the quarter-final?

Fernandes, who scored a crucial brace on the night, emerged top of our fan poll with 45 per cent of the vote.

The Portuguese maestro was seemingly everywhere, whether that be battling on the edge of his own box, threading passes through or arriving late to hammer the ball home.

Bruno was one of our creative sparks in a cagey first half, playing a number of clever passes through to team-mates as we looked for the opener.

And in the second half, our no.8 was the man to draw us level from the spot. Following his equaliser, and Sabitzer’s important flick, Bruno got his second of the night with a thunderous shot from the edge of the box that arrowed in the top corner.

The closest to the midfielder in our voting was David De Gea, who earned 23 per cent of the vote. The Spaniard was relatively untroubled in the first half but in the second, he had to pull off some fabulous saves.

With the scores level, David sprung to his right brilliantly to deny Mitrovic, before producing yet another remarkable stop from the Serbian to keep the deficit at one goal.

De Gea’s goalkeeping ensured the visitors didn’t grab a second goal, and that proved crucial in United’s comeback.

Sabitzer: My first goal was massive!

United's Austrian midfielder was delighted to score his maiden strike for the club in the win over Fulham.

The only other Red to gain double-figures in the voting was Sabitzer, who gave United the lead with a deft flick shortly after Bruno’s penalty.

The Austrian was tireless in his approach, and arrived in the right place at the right time to edge the Reds ahead and set us on the way to victory.

It was his first goal for the club, and there are few better ways to celebrate than in front of the Stretford End.
