WHO WILL YOU CHOOSE?

Greenwood v Bournemouth (Goal 1)

Four of our goals from the 5-2 thriller against the Cherries have been nominated, the first of which a venomous left-footed strike by Mason Greenwood which levelled the match at 1-1. The teenager’s effort from just inside the area was too powerful for Bournemouth keeper Aaron Ramsdale, having been set up by a perfect ball across the edge of the box by Bruno Fernandes.

Martial v Bournemouth

Next it was Anthony Martial's turn to get on the scoresheet against the south-coast side. This tim,e the keeper was nowhere near the strike, which flew into the top corner as the Frenchman skipped inside from the left flank and curled the ball into the far side of the net, clipping the underside of the bar on the way in.

Greenwood v Bournemouth (Goal 2)

Homegrown product Greenwood got the second of his brace against Bournemouth thanks to Nemanja Matic winning the ball back for United high up the pitch, but, after the Serbian played the ball, it was Mason who did the rest. Dancing away from the full-back, Greenwood created enough space to sweetly fire the ball home from an angle in front of the empty Stretford End.

Fernandes v Bournemouth

The winner of June’s competition, Bruno Fernandes rounded off the win against the Cherries with a free-kick worthy of consideration for this month’s award. Struck with pace and power from just inside the D, the ball swung away from a helpless Ramsdale and found the corner of the net.

Pogba v Aston Villa

Although Paul Pogba had to wait 15 months since his last strike, the Frenchman's finish at Villa Park was full of quality and left Pepe Reina rooted in his goal. Fernandes fired in a corner to Pogba who was waiting outside the area and, with a touch to set himself, he slotted it into the bottom right-hand corner with pinpoint accuracy.

Rashford v Southampton

A goal down to teamwork and finished by Marcus Rashford at the back post. Pogba’s ball landed at the feet of Martial, who under the challenge of three Saints players, couldn’t stay upright to turn and shoot himself, but had the presence of mind to spot Rashford’s run and assist his strike partner who stroked it in with his left.

Martial v Southampton

Our no.9’s second entry on this list is reminiscent of his first. Again, cutting in from the left wing, Marital completed a rapid counter-attack with an effort from inside the area that made the net bulge – prompting jubilant celebrations from the whole squad.

Rashford v Crystal Palace

Having toiled against a resolute Eagles defence, a quick interchange of passes allowed the Reds to breach their backline. As Rashford raced across the box he was composure personified and shifted the ball back to his other foot, outwitting two defenders and the goalkeeper to give himself a cool pass into an unguarded net in south London.

Martial v Crystal Palace

To complete a hat-trick of goals from Martial up for July’s accolade, how about his right-footed finish at Selhurst Park? Rashford picked the ball up in our half before offloading to Fernandes out wide, on receiving the return pass, Marcus slid the ball to Anthony who took over, curing the ball into the bottom corner.

Greenwood v West Ham United

Last, and by no means least, from the pick of July’s goals for Reds is Greenwood’s third entry for the month too. Such sublime teamplay saw United pass their way through the Hammers like they weren’t there. Mason’s one-two with Martial left the youngster in a fantastic position to rifle a shot past the diving Lukasz Fabianski for a crucial equaliser.
