Wan-Bissaka is latest Red revived by Erik

Aaron Wan-Bissaka has marked his return to the Manchester United starting line-up with two impressive performances since club football resumed after the World Cup.

A compelling outing against Burnley in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup last week was followed by another fine display in front of the Old Trafford faithful, in Tuesday's 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest.

Prior to those outings, it had been a difficult season so far for the 25-year-old, who has been held back by injuries and illness in the first half of the season.

But with an assist and two back-to-back clean sheets now under his belt, the right-back seems to be the latest player to benefit from Erik ten Hag’s United revival.

Wan-Bissaka provided an excellent assist for Christian Eriksen's goal against Burnley.
With Diogo Dalot’s return to United action after the World Cup being delayed by injury, it has opened the doors for Wan-Bissaka to stake his claim for the right-back spot.

And Ten Hag is ‘happy’ with the recent performances he has seen from the former Crystal Palace defender.

“In the first half of the season, he was either injured or ill, so you don’t have a role in the squad,” said the manager in his pre-Wolves press conference.
“He returned, he was in the training camp in Spain, where he could play some games in preparation for the restart.

“Now he has played two games and he is doing really well so I am happy with his performance. But we need that competition in our squad.”

And after his standout display against Burnley, the boss assured that Wan-Bissaka has a positive future at the club.

The full-back is clearly benefiting from Ten Hag’s approach to the squad that has seen many of our players find a new lease of life.

Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Dalot are among those who seem to have been rejuvenated under the manager, and Aaron now appears to be heading toward a similar trajectory.

Although it's still early days for Wan-Bissaka as a starter for Ten Hag, what we’ve seen in the last two games has been hugely promising.
