Amad and Mbeumo start positively at AFCON
Manchester United stars Amad and Bryan Mbeumo both recorded goal contributions at the Africa Cup of Nations on Wednesday.
Amad's Ivory Coast took on Mozambique at Stade de Marrakech and his composed finish gave the holders a narrow 1-0 win in Group F.
The Elephants are the reigning AFCON champions after lifting the trophy in 2023 and they hope to retain their crown in Morocco.

After a dominant first half of missed chances, Ivory Coast took the lead early in the second half.
United forward Amad met Franck Kessie's knockdown with a strike that went through Sunderland defender Reinildo's legs and into the net.
After securing three points, Ivory Coast are now 14 matches unbeaten across all competitions and they will feel confident about their chances of progressing to the knockout stages, with group matches against Cameroon and Gabon to come.
ELSEWHERE IN GROUP F
United forward Mbeumo also got off to a winning start as Cameroon chalked up a 1-0 win over Gabon at Stade d'Agdir.
Our powerful no.19 registered an assist after just six minutes, playing a lovely pass to set up Levante's Karl Etta Eyong to score.
Bryan later received a yellow card in the 79th for a foul on Jim Allevinah.
Interestingly, Mbeumo's next AFCON outing will be against Amad's Ivory Coast on Sunday 28 December at 20:00 GMT.
If there is a winner, that country will be in pole position to top Group F.
