Herrera voted our Player of the Month for May
Ander Herrera has won the final Player of the Month award for the 2017/18 season, as voted for by the Manchester United supporters.
Although May was a disappointing month overall for United, Herrera’s showings were one of the highlights.
After sitting out our first game of the month against Brighton & Hove Albion, Ander played the full 90 against West Ham. Our no.21 played in a slightly more defensive role at the London Stadium in the absence of Nemanja Matic and his work rate ensured we emerged from the encounter with a clean sheet.
Herrera was then a substitute in the final league game of the season against Watford, when his team-mate Michael Carrick waved farewell to Old Trafford following his final appearance as a player.
He was selected to start at Wembley in the Emirates FA Cup final and, despite it being a frustrating occasion, Herrera was at the heart of our best attacking moves and his incisive passing nearly cut Chelsea open on several occasions.
Congratulations on your award, Ander.

After having lifted three trophies at Wembley to date, today we got the bad feeling of a loss. However, I am proud of my team and my club. I feel really disappointed for our fans. They were amazing again and all we can say is thanks for everything you do for us 🔴 pic.twitter.com/QxKxrzzujP
