Antony up for Premier League Goal of the Month

Thursday 03 November 2022 13:00

Antony has been nominated for the Premier League's Goal of the Month award for October 2022.

The Brazilian found the net twice across the month, but it's his stunning strike against Manchester City that has been selected.

The winger let rip from more than 20 yards, easily beating Ederson to provide a rare moment of joy in an otherwise disappointing Manchester derby.

His effort at the Etihad is also up for the club's Goal of the Month prize.

The wonder-goal was Antony's second Premier League strike in as many games, after he found the net on debut against Arsenal.

In his following league match, he became the first Red of the Premier League era to score in each of his first three league games.

Now our summer signing will go up against six other players to try and claim the award.
Kevin De Bruyne has two goals in contention and also nominated are Miguel Almiron (Newcastle United), Conor Gallagher (Chelsea), Dwight McNeil (Everton), Thomas Partey (Arsenal) and Youri Tielemans (Leicester City).

Voting opens at 13:00 GMT on Thursday 3 November 2022, via the Premier League website.

It closes on Monday 7 November, at midday, with the winner being announced on Friday 11 November at 13:00 GMT.

The best of luck to Antony, and don't forget to cast your vote here!
