New roles created on the Fans' Advisory Board
Manchester United is inviting applications from supporters to join the Fans’ Advisory Board, with two new positions being created for this season and beyond.
The Fans’ Advisory Board (FAB) is made up of fan representatives and senior club officials, providing a formal platform for confidential, board-level discussion between the club and fan representatives on strategic matters. The FAB works alongside our Fans’ Forum, which has, as a broader representative body, focused on matchday issues and fan experience.
Following a review at the end of the FAB’s second full season, it has been collectively decided to expand the board, creating two new fan roles to supplement current representatives.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their commitment to United with extensive knowledge of the club, and of issues affecting both the club and its global supporter network. They will be expected to advocate on behalf of fans and provide constructive and well-informed advice to senior club leaders at quarterly meetings.
They will be good communicators, with the confidence to engage with senior club leaders and offer constructive and well-informed advice, while remaining open to different views. Experience of working in roles where they have to think strategically, analyse and solve problems and work collaboratively will be beneficial.
Introducing your new Fan Reps
ArticleThree United supporters have been appointed to the Fans' Forum.
Rick McGagh, director of fan engagement, said: “The FAB is central to our fan engagement strategy and has already made a significant contribution to the way we operate and view fan-related matters. With new ownership and leadership structures in place, along with the exciting work happening on the Old Trafford regeneration project, it is a fantastic time for two more fans to join the FAB and to help us further improve the experience for our loyal supporters.”
Supporters are requested to provide a 1,000-word supporting statement and CV by Tuesday 17 September.
