Young: We'll pick ourselves up and go again

Ashley Young insists Manchester United will do everything to bounce back from Wednesday’s defeat at Tottenham when returning to action this weekend.

The Reds fell to only a fourth defeat of the season in all competitions as Christian Eriksen’s early strike and an own goal from Phil Jones gave Spurs a 2-0 triumph at Wembley Stadium.

Young, who played at left-back, reflected on a disappointing night for Jose Mourinho’s men but believes the only thing United can do is continue to work hard and return to winning ways against Huddersfield Town at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Ashley Young was keen to focus on the next game following the 2-0 defeat at Tottenham

“Obviously we're disappointed to concede a goal so early on and to be 2-0 down at half-time is hard when you play a tough team like Tottenham,” the no.18 told MUTV.

“This was going to be a tough game. If we had got the next goal, it would have been a different story. It wasn’t meant to be – there is a lot of disappointment in that dressing room but we have got another tough game this weekend.

"We’ve got to dust ourselves down, pick ourselves up and go again.”
