Bruno's back at the Aon Training Complex

Wednesday 31 March 2021 15:45

Bruno Fernandes is back at the Aon Training Complex and focusing on Sunday's return to Premier League action against Brighton & Hove Albion at Old Trafford.

The Portugal international was forced to miss his country's 3-1 win at Luxembourg after picking up a yellow card in their previous World Cup qualifier against Serbia, which ruled him out through suspension.

Hence, he has been able to waste little time in joining up with the Reds as we continue the countdown to the visit of the Seagulls.

Here's another chance to watch Bruno's nerveless penalty against Brighton...

Bruno, of course, has history with the south-coast side after scoring twice in the 3-0 success at the Amex Stadium last season and netting a late, late winner from the penalty spot in the away game there in September.

Graham Potter's team come to Manchester on the back of some good form of late, following successive wins over Southampton and Newcastle United that have eased their relegation worries.

Fernandes started United's last match  the Emirates FA Cup defeat at Leicester City  on the bench, after a phenomenal physical effort in Milan in the Europa League a few days previously.

Therefore, the chance for him to come back to the group a little early will probably be welcomed by the staff, as our influential playmaker looks to continue the form that has seen him pick up another accolade this week, with The Daily Telegraph naming him their Midfielder of the Season.

We'll be hoping the rest of the Reds on international duty return unscathed after Wednesday night's fixtures, before preparations for Sunday night's 19:30 BST kick-off really begin to ramp up.
