Bruno posts powerful message after season end

Bruno Fernandes posted a defiant message on Twitter this morning after Manchester United finished sixth in the Premier League.

The Reds were defeated 1-0 by Crystal Palace on the final day, but qualified for the Europa League, thanks to Brighton & Hove Albion’s 3-1 victory over West Ham United on the south coast.

Our no.18 used Twitter to share his frustrations regarding the situation, admitting that United’s levels were not up to our own expectations.

The thread reads as follows:

“Season over and none of our goals was accomplished. I know that individually and collectively it was not at the level that we should be.”

Fernandes' initial message was followed by a thank you to our fans, whose support he appreciates hugely.

As well as being reflective, the Portuguese maestro reiterated his belief that the Reds will “bounce back" from the setbacks of this season:

“For all of our fans, once again, you have showed to me why this is one of the biggest clubs in the world and that is because, even in seasons like that, you keep being behind us. I learned something really important since I came to the club and that is @ManUtd always bounce back.”

As the curtain is drawn on the campaign, new manager Erik ten Hag is set to be officially unveiled, and will be joined at Old Trafford by assistant coaches Mitchell van der Gaag and Steve McClaren.

The Dutch boss, who will take charge of the Reds in time for our pre-season tour in July, is set to outline his vision for the future of the club in his first press conference at 12:00 BST.

In addition to Ten Hag's arrival, Fernandes signed a new contract at the beginning of April, committing his future to the club as part of the Dutchman's new era.
