Fernandes wins Premier League Player of the Month
Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has been named the Premier League's Player of the Month for March.
The Portugal international has put together an incredible campaign so far, but managed to surpass even his own high standards in March, registering at least one goal or assist in all four of our games across the month, against Crystal Palace, Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Bournemouth.
He added two goals and four assists to his current tally in those matches, predictably clinching him our own Player of the Month award, as voted for by fans, and also earning our Man of the Match gong in three of those four outings.
His two set-ups in our 3-1 win against the Villans, for Brazilian duo Casemiro and Cunha, took him up to 100 assists for the Reds since joining in 2020, having reached the same number for goals early in the season, with Wayne Rooney and Ryan Giggs the only two other United players to have racked up a century in both metrics during the Premier League era.

Fernandes has recently been on international duty with Portugal, where he provided two assists, for Trincao and Joao Felix, so looks well placed to continue his blistering form when he gets back to work in Manchester – where this Premier League award awaits him – with our next game against historic rivals Leeds United.
Bruno saw off competition from two Academy graduates in the fan-voted Premier League award, with Everton midfielder James Garner and Brighton & Hove Albion striker Danny Welback both nominated.
He was also up against Morgan Gibbs-White (Nottingham Forest), Anthony Gordon (Newcastle United), Alex Iwobi (Fulham) and David Raya (Arsenal), but none were able to see off our midfield magician.
Bryan Mbeumo was the last United player to win this award, picking up the October trophy earlier this campaign, with Fernandes bagging our second of the season.
It's the sixth time our prolific midfielder has claimed the Premier League's monthly award, which means only Sergio Aguero, Harry Kane and Mohamed Salah (seven) have racked up more successes.
