Manchester United’s new signing Casemiro has shared his delight after getting of to a winning start with the Reds on Saturday afternoon at Southampton.

United triumphed 1-0 in a closely fought contest, in which Casemiro made his United debut from the bench, coming on as an 80th minute substitute.

The Brazilian went straight into the heat of the action, in the middle of the park, and was able to help the Reds see out an important three points on the south coast.

After the match, the midfielder went over to our travelling fans to show his appreciation for their support, and a picture of that moment now accompanies a pleasing three-word post on his official Twitter account.

It reads: “Debut and victory!!”

The 30-year-old completed his move to the Reds from Real Madrid on Monday and after making his debut, he will no doubt now be looking to get more minutes in a United shirt.

In his post-match press conference, United manager Erik ten Hag was asked for his assessment of our no.18’s first cameo in United colours.

“I think it was quite good for him to see what the Premier League is,” the Dutchman told reporters.

“It’s a different style, he has now a pre-season, he played some games, he played one time 90 minutes, but he is fit.

“He had a good pre-season with a lot of training sessions and now we have to integrate him in the team in a way of play and to integrate him with his teammates."
