Casemiro responds to United legend after Forest win
Casemiro was instrumental in Manchester United’s 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night, dominating in midfield and assisting the Reds’ third goal.
The Brazilian enforcer was absolutely everywhere, breaking up play, organising his team-mates and displaying his impressive array of passing.
It was his incisive pass which created our third goal against Forest in the second half, as Casemiro cut open the opposition defence to find his compatriot Fred in acres of space, and our no.17 made no mistake.
Such was his influence, Casemiro gained acclaim on Twitter from a United legend: Rio Ferdinand.
Rio tweeted:
“3-0
Love this guy @Casemiro”
Thank you Legend. I am honoured! 🙌🏽

Our no.18 replied to Ferdinand with: “Thank you Legend. I am honoured!”
But Rio wasn’t the only person heaping praise on Casemiro after the full-time whistle at Old Trafford, as United manager Erik ten Hag waxed lyrical about the Brazilian.
“We needed a no.6,” said Erik in his post-match interview with club media. “It is one of the decisions we made in our analysis before the season.
“We have the perfect one, we are happy with him. He has showed a lot of leadership and football skills.
“He is keeping the team together and then he is also so important in our ball playing. Winning the ball and giving the ball to the right player, like he did with the third goal.”

A sign of a top class player is that they make players around them better and that’s exactly what Eriksen and Casemiro do. Two top class signings.

Casemiro senses danger from far off. He reads, intercepts, releases. He's the calm controller, organising, inspiring. He's only 30, got a good 2-3 years left at elite level. Doesn't rely on pace, relies on experience, intelligence and sensing danger early. #MUFC #MUNNFO

He's been ridiculous at covering all game + that is crowning moment. Waited for right moment then anticipated when to intercept.
The pass is exquisite. Neat finish Fred.
Brazilian combo. #MUFC
