All four Champions League Pots are now confirmed

Wednesday 25 August 2021 14:41

All four pots for the Champions League group-stage draw have now been confirmed, revealing which clubs Manchester United could be paired against this season.

The UEFA ceremony will take place in Istanbul, Turkey, from 17:00 BST on Thursday (26 August) and we have known for some time that our possible Pot One opponents include the champions of Europe's elite leagues, plus the Europa League winners: Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich, Internazionale, Lille, Sporting Club and Villarreal.

Chelsea and Manchester City are also in Pot One as the reigning Champions League and Premier League winners, respectively, but teams of the same nationality cannot face each other at this stage of the historic competition.

Pots Two, Three and Four are based on UEFA's club coefficient ratings, and these have now been determined following the completion of the third qualifying round. United are seeded in Pot Two, so our group will be composed of one club each from Pots One, Three and Four.
