Ronaldo reacts to his 700th club goal

Cristiano Ronaldo came off the bench in the first half of Manchester United’s 2-1 away win against Everton on Sunday and did what he does best: scoring goals.

Our no.7 was an early introduction at Goodison Park due to an injury to Anthony Martial, and instantly caused the Everton defence problems with the intelligent movement and desire to get into the box that we expect of him.

The sides were locked at 1-1 when Ronaldo joined the action, and he proved the difference-maker once more, latching on to Casemiro’s forward ball before firing low beyond Jordan Pickford to give the Reds the lead on the stroke of half-time.

Ronaldo's 700th goal in club football proved our match-winner, but don't overlook Casemiro's quality assist...

That goal proved pivotal, as Erik ten Hag’s side saw out the rest of the fixture and earned a vital three points on the road in the league.

But for Ronaldo, his finish added yet another accolade to his already glittering resume. It was goal number 700 of his club career.

Following another remarkable achievement, Cristiano posted a message on Twitter, expressing his thanks to those who have supported him over the years.

“700 club goals,” he wrote. “What a beautiful number we’ve achieved together! Thank you to all my teammates, coaches, clubs, family & friends and of course my fans. United we continue”

Ronaldo’s team-mate for club and country, Bruno Fernandes, revealed how pleased the Reds’ squad is for our no.7 after yet another incredible individual achievement.

What’s more, Marcus Rashford expressed his congratulations to Ronaldo on Twitter following the full-time whistle.

On Monday, at Carrington, the Reds posed for a photo with Ronaldo to celebrate his success.

The 37-year-old was presented with a United shirt adorned with the number 700 on the back, and balloons decorated the changing room.

Congratulations on yet another historic landmark, Cristiano!
