United Women celebrating a goal.

Date set for rearranged Charlton clash

Thursday 07 February 2019 11:00

Manchester United Women's rearranged fixture against Charlton Athletic Women will take place on Sunday 24 March at The Oakwood, with kick-off scheduled for 14:00 GMT.

All fans who attended the original Women's Championship fixture will be able to gain free entry on the day as part of Charlton’s 'honesty ticket policy’.

The ground will be open to fans on the day from 13:00 GMT.

In addition, Manchester United have also agreed to provide free coach transport for any away supporters who are able to provide proof that they attended the original fixture.

Details on this will be circulated in due course.

The original game was abandoned on 13 January following a serious injury to Charlton winger Charlotte Kerr, who was involved in a collision as United midfielder Charlie Devlin scored to put Casey Stoney's side 1-0 up in the 11th minute.

Kerr received extensive treatment on the pitch and an ambulance was called. Both teams were sent back to their changing rooms and, after a delay of almost an hour, the game was called off by the referee.

Earlier this week, United Women were drawn at home to London Bees in the fifth round of the SSE Women's FA Cup. The game was originally scheduled to be played on Sunday 17 February but a new date will be sought and announced in due course.
