De Gea presented with signed 'clean sheets' shirt

David De Gea was presented with a commemorative Manchester United shirt after becoming the goalkeeper with the most clean sheets in the club’s history.

David kept a record 181st shut-out, against Newcastle United in the final of the Carabao Cup, as the Reds emerged 2-0 victors at Wembley.

The clean sheet moved the Spaniard one above the legendary Peter Schmeichel, and following the match, the 32-year-old was honoured by his team-mates and manager Erik ten Hag.

On the plane back from London, with United getting back to work ahead of Wednesday’s Emirates FA Cup match against West Ham at Old Trafford, our no.1 was issued with a special United shirt.

De Gea was given a special gift after becoming United's all-time clean sheet leader...

Signed by all of his team-mates, David’s gift features the number 181 on the back to commemorate the Spaniard’s milestone.

De Gea posed for photos with the rest of the United squad, coaches, and Erik, as well as getting further images with the Carabao Cup trophy on the journey back to Manchester.

Schmeichel was also quick to praise his fellow keeper on Twitter after he was surpassed on the all-time list.

"181 clean sheets. Amazing way to celebrate it,” he wrote.

“Congratulations on this record.”

David has been a key member of our squad for more than a decade, and long may it continue.

This record is yet another individual accolade for the Spaniard to add to his collection, and both he and our fans will be hoping to see plenty more before the season is out.

Congratulations once more, David, keep up the good work.
