Who is De Gea backing for Player of the Month?
The poll to name Manchester United’s Player of the Month for November 2020 was opened on Monday afternoon and David De Gea has revealed his preference for the fan-voted award.
We are set for a new Player of the Month this campaign after Juan Mata took home the trophy in September, followed by Marcus Rashford at the end of October. So who will it be this time?
Interestingly, the comments section of our Instagram post to promote the poll featured input from leading contender Fred, who expressed his apparent shock towards his inclusion with an emoji.
Clearly not having such modesty from the Brazilian ball-winner, whose consistency is impressing fans this season, supportive team-mate De Gea responded to say:
“You deserve [it] bro!”
Despite recent praise, the 27-year-old is refreshingly honest about his form and recently admitted he was unhappy with his display against Arsenal, but was pleased to put it right in the following outing at Goodison Park.
“Yes, I was very happy, speaking about myself with my performance in the game against Everton,”Fred humbly told us.
“My performance was not very good against Arsenal, but, against Everton, I ended up doing much better. I hope to keep evolving and improving every day.”
Fred completed the highest number of touches (95), passes (74) and tackles (4) in the United squad, also winning the most duels (17) and achieving the best pass-completion rate (94.6 per cent).
Looking ahead, our dependable no.17 is expected to feature for a 14th time this campaign when Paris Saint-Germain visit Old Trafford in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
The poll to name our Player of the Month for November will close on matchday, so make sure you vote now to support your favourite!
