Loanee Di'Shon makes his domestic debut

Manchester United defender Di'Shon Bernard made his domestic debut at the weekend for his loan club Salford CIty.

The centre-back was introduced off the bench in the 1-1 draw with Crawley Town in League Two and played in an unfamiliar role in midfield, with ex-United striker James Wilson continuing his good recent form by finding the net again for the home side.

Bernard did well when called upon and earned praise from Reds legend, and current interim Salford boss, Paul Scholes for his adaptability after the game.

Ex-Red Paul Scholes is the interim manager of Salford City.

“He did well,” commented Scholes to Salford's official website. "It was something of a new experience for him.

“He can play centre-half, he can play central midfield, he can play right-back at a push, as well, so it's good experience.

“I thought he did well. He did everything he needed to do and, hopefully, he pushes on.”

Bernard made his senior debut in United's Europa League tie at Astana last year, performing alongside Axel Tuanzebe at the heart of the defence in freezing Kazakhstan.

The 20-year-old was the subject of the last of the club's transfer dealings before the deadline when he made the loan switch until January.
