Levitt handed first senior Wales call-up

Manchester United midfielder Dylan Levitt is ending the season on a real high after being included in a senior Wales squad for the first time.

The 18-year-old has been named in a 26-man group by Reds legend Ryan Giggs for a six-day camp in the Algarve.

It is recognition for Levitt's efforts as he broke into United's Under-23s side, ahead of schedule, and was shortlisted for the Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year award.

Dylan Levitt has been working hard all season at the Aon Training Complex.

Levitt, who joined the club at the age of eight, has been pleased with his progress over the course of the campaign.

"I started off in the Under-18s at the beginning of the season and pushed up to the Under-23s in the second half of it," he told us recently. "I've got to keep striving.

"It's a big jump but I think I dealt with it quite well, to be honest. The physical aspect was the biggest challenge.

"I started gym work quite late when I was in the Under-16s for the first year but the club has been great in helping me develop. You need a bit of physicality in your game, no matter what position you play in.

"The best thing here is the opportunities. There is always an individual plan for each player and, if you're doing really well, you get pushed to the next level."

Levitt is the latest young Red to receive international recognition since the Academy season ended.

Arnau Puigmal scored for Spain Under-18s in their win over Croatia this week, while Anthony Elanga (Sweden), Charlie McCann (Republic of Ireland) and Teden Mengi (England) all featured in the European Under-17 Championship.

Elanga scored both of Sweden's goals in their 4-2 defeat to France in the group stages.
