Cavani gives hint about his fitness

Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani has pledged to return to action soon.

The striker has been sidelined since the 1-1 draw at West Brom and was absent again for the goalless stalemate with Chelsea, when his centre-forward's nous may have proved useful in breaking the deadlock.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed before the game that it was unfortunate the Uruguayan could not make the trip to west London, even if Scott McTominay managed to recover and train in time to take his place in the team.

After the game, Edi posted on Instagram: "Eager to come back soon."

Hopefully, the South American will be available for our next assignment - the Premier League visit to Crystal Palace on Wednesday night.

The clash with the Eagles is the second of three consecutive games on the road for the Reds, with leaders Manchester City to follow next weekend.

Donny van de Beek also returned from his lay-off to make the bench at Stamford Bridge.
