Hojlund starts crunch Galatasaray showdown

Erik ten Hag has announced the United XI that will start our crunch Champions League match away to Galatasaray.

United sit bottom of Group A ahead of kick-off in Istanbul (17:45 GMT), but can rise to second with victory over the Turkish champions if FC Copenhagen fail to beat Bayern Munich.

With Marcus Rashford suspended due to a red card in our previous group-stage game – the dramatic 4-3 defeat to the Danes – the boss has been forced to reshuffle the line-up that won 3-0 at Goodison Park on Sunday.

The Reds have made a total of four changes, with Rasmus Hojlund declared fit enough to lead the line in a bid to add to his five goals in the competition, including a double against this evening's opponents on matchday two.

Anthony Martial makes way, despite his goal at Goodison Park, and Antony has won the battle to replace Rashford on the right wing.

The other alterations to the weekend's team are Aaron Wan-Bissaka's recall at right-back, in place of Diogo Dalot, and the experience of Sofyan Amrabat is preferred to Man of the Match Kobbie Mainoo in the middle of the park.

Mainoo, Dan Gore and Joe Hugill are among those named on the bench.

In terms of the Amrabat selection, Ten Hag told TNT Sports: "Sofyan is used to playing big games. I am comfortable with Kobbie, we saw on Sunday he can do it, but he can't play every game. He is coming back from an injury and is a junior."

United: Onana; Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, Lindelof, Shaw; McTominay, Amrabat; Antony, Fernandes (c), Garnacho; Hojlund.

Substitutes: Bayindir, Heaton, Dalot, Reguilon, Varane, Gore, Hannibal, Mainoo, Hugill, Martial, Pellistri.
