Ten Hag names first Premier League team

Erik ten Hag's first Manchester United XI in the Premier League has been announced.

The Reds take on Brighton & Hove Albion in a 14:00 BST kick-off at Old Trafford, looking to get off to the perfect start in the sunshine.

With Anthony Martial out injured, there was a question mark over who would start in attack, with Cristiano Ronaldo only having 45 minutes of pre-season action under his belt.

The boss has opted either to field Marcus Rashford up front or utilising Bruno Fernandes as a 'false nine', with Ronaldo starting on the bench.

Lisandro Martinez and Christian Eriksen make their competitive debuts for the Reds, with fellow new boy Tyrell Malacia among the substitutes.

Jadon Sancho is fit enough to make the XI.

United: De Gea; Dalot, Maguire (c), Martinez, Shaw; Fred, McTominay; Sancho, Fernandes, Eriksen; Rashford.

Substitutes: Heaton, Malacia, Varane, Wan-Bissaka; Garner, van de Beek; Elanga, Garnacho, Ronaldo.
