Copenhagen make plans for Danish duo

FC Copenhagen coach Jacob Neestrup admits there is real danger to his side posed by Manchester United's Danish duo Christian Eriksen and Rasmus Hojlund.

The home manager has been in confident mood ahead of the UEFA Champions League fixture, which kicks off at 20:00 GMT at Parken Stadium.

However, he has stressed there is a need for a plan to stifle the threat of the two Denmark internationals, pointing to the goal conceded at Old Trafford, when Eriksen supplied a pinpoint cross for Harry Maguire to head the winner.

Eriksen: This game will be different

Christian relishes playing at senior club level in his native Denmark, for the very first time...

Eriksen will play a senior domestic club match in his native country for the first time and he told us, after performing media duties at the press conference in the capital: "It will be fun and, yeah, I'm looking forward to it.

"I'm sure it'd be a different game there compared to the one we had before. But we've seen the players, we know the players and yeah, I know it's a strong team."

The vastly experienced playmaker's main weapon is the one that Neestrup clearly fears the most.

"The next time Christian Eriksen gets the ball in such a situation," he told Ekstra Bladet. "You must spring to this right leg and do everything you can to avoid such a cross being hit into the box.

"Because, at this level, it can be equal to a goal. It is the small situations that we have to raise ourselves up for. Right foot, right foot, right foot. It must be shut down."

As for Hojlund, the striker is aiming to add to his tally of three Champions League goals for the Reds already, since his move from Atalanta in the summer.

The youngster used to play for FCK and will be determined to silence the partisan home crowd.

"We have prepared to give him a few metres so that he can take the ball down the pitch, rather than give him room behind," Neestrup said of Hojlund.

"The defenders are going to look a little at that priority, in relation to how they are going to make the duels with him.

"We also have to get used to the fact that when we play under pressure from him, he never gives up completely and always comes at 200 kilometres per hour. So that is something we have prepared for."
