Brandy: I've got to learn to deal with it
Former Manchester United forward Febian Brandy told the story of his career and talked about the tragic loss of his parents during a recent episode of UTD Podcast.
Brandy, now 33, progressed through the club’s youth ranks having first joined as a nine-year-old back in 1998. During his time in the Academy, he overcame several injuries, including a broken leg, and went on to show his goalscoring talents for the Reserves, before being rewarded with a place in the first team’s matchday squad for our away game at Roma in the 2007/08 Champions League group stage.
Following several loan spells, Brandy departed United in 2011, having not made an appearance for the Reds at senior level. He has since gone on to enjoy a career in the professional game, playing for the likes of Notts County, Sheffield United and Walsall, as well as earning two international caps for Saint Kitts and Nevis.
I'm at a stage in my life where I've had a lot to reflect on. This podcast was 1 of my most deepest and open ones to date.

In recent years, Febian has set up his own football scouting app and more recently has become a regular pundit and contributor on MUTV.
Although he has yet to officially retire as a player, he has taken some time out of the game, as he explains to Helen Evans and her co-host David May during his episode of UTD Podcast.
“So, last year was a bit of a crazy year,” began Brandy.
As you can see in the video clip below, Febian goes on to bravely tell the story of an incredibly tough time for his family and talk about how he’s processed everything that happened.
“This was 26 June last year, it’s crazy. You’ve just got to learn to deal with things. It’s something I’ll never get over, but I’ve just got to learn to deal with it.”
