Hegel quotes Jose could use

Jose Mourinho has discussed Bastian Schweinsteiger and he must have mentioned Michael Ballack before. But Friday's press conference might have been the first one in which he namechecked another notable German, Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel.

Born in Stuttgart in 1770, Hegel became one of the 19th century's most prominent philosophers, delivering words of wisdom from universities including Nuremberg and Heidelberg.

And while he may have passed away 187 years ago, his thoughts, ideas and utterances live on through literature, the internet and, it would seem, enthusiasts such as the United manager.
Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, philosopher, 1770-1831.
When a journalist challenged him in his pre-match media briefing, Mourinho dipped into his knowledge pool and pulled out a Hegel line in reply.

The manager responded: "Have you read any philosophers? Have you spent any time reading, for example, Hegel?

"Hegel says 'the truth is in the whole'. It's always in the whole that you find the truth."

Mourinho's inspired reply made us wonder if there are other Hegel quotes he could use in future press conferences or interviews. We found a few...
