90 in 20: United Women v Tottenham
Extended highlights | Watch 20 minutes of action from the Reds' third WSL win in a row...
CANADA
Reds selected: Simi Awujo
Fixtures: Spain (A) – 25 Oct, 21:00.
Two fixtures await each of the other countries with some United representation this month, but it’s just the one match for Canada, whose squad includes summer signing Simi Awujo. It’s a blockbuster clash however, even if it's officially billed a friendly, with world champions Spain.
The duel will take place in the central Spanish town of Almendralejo on Tuesday 25 October.
ENGLAND
Reds selected: Grace Clinton, Maya Le Tissier, Ella Toone
Fixtures: Germany (H) – 25 Oct, 19:30. South Africa (H) – 29 Oct, 19:45.
Wembley Stadium will host the first of the upcoming friendly outings for Sarina Wiegman’s squad, which features Grace Clinton, Maya Le Tissier and Ella Toone.
The United trio will hope to be involved in a rematch of the Euro 2022 final with Germany – which Toone memorably scored in – at the national arena on 25 October and a showdown with South Africa in Coventry four days later.
Meanwhile, Reds defenders Lucy Newell and Jess Simpson have been called up to represent the Lionesses at Under-19s and Under-23s levels respectively this month.
IRELAND
Reds selected: Aoife Mannion
Fixtures: Georgia (A) – 25 Oct, 17:00. Georgia (H) – 29 Oct, 19:30
The Republic are aiming for a second straight major tournament participation, after qualifying for the World Cup in 2023. Mannion was not involved in that competition, due to injury, so she will be eager to help Eileen Gleeson's side get over the line in this two-legged play-off with Georgia.
The victors of this particular tie will take on the winners of Slovakia and Wales, for a place at the finals in Switzerland.
NETHERLANDS
Reds selected: Dominique Janssen
Fixtures: Indonesia (H) – 25 Oct, 19:45. Denmark (A) – 29 Oct, 17:00.
Dominique Janssen is set to represent the Dutch team over the coming weeks, with friendlies against Indonesia and Denmark on the calendar for the Euro 2017 winners, as they gear up for the next edition of the tournament in the summer.
Janssen, who has played in midfield during the opening weeks of her United career, could continue in a similar role for her country or operate as a defender, as she has done most frequently during her 114 caps as a senior international.
NORWAY
Reds selected: Celin Bizet, Lisa Naalsund, Elisabeth Terland
Fixtures: Albania (A) – 25 Oct, 15:00. Albania (H) – 29 Oct, 18:00.
The first of two Euro 2025 play-off rounds takes place in the October break, with Norway among the nations bidding to continue their pathway to the tournament over the coming weeks.
United's Celin Bizet, Lisa Naalsund and Elisabeth Terland are tasked with helping the Norwegian team to overcome Albania across two legs, with a second-round tie against Croatia or Northern Ireland the prize for the winner.
REPUBLIC OF IRELAND
Reds selected: Aoife Mannion
Fixtures: Georgia (A) – 25 Oct, 17:00. Georgia (H) – 29 Oct, 19:30.
Euro 2025 play-off action is also on the cards for Aoife Mannion and the Republic of Ireland, who have been paired with Georgia in the opening round, as they look to make the finals for the first-ever time.
A first-leg bout in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi comes before the return match in Dublin, four days later, with Slovakia or Wales awaiting in round two.
SCOTLAND
Reds selected: Emma Watson
Fixtures: Hungary (A) – 25 Oct, 17:15. Hungary (H) – 29 Oct, 19:35.
Reds midfielder Emma Watson is back with the Scotland seniors for their two-legged play-off clash with Hungary, just over a year after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury.
The 18-year-old returned to action in pre-season and was included in United's first-team matchday squad at the weekend the first time since her summer 2023 move from Rangers. A round-two meeting with Montenegro or Finland will be the reward if Watson and co are successful.

Hayley Ladd has been announced as one of two vice-captains in the Wales squad ahead of their Euro 2025 play-off encounter with Slovakia. Ladd is joined in Rhian Wilkinson’s group by Safia Middleton-Patel and young Reds midfielder Mared Griffiths.
The trio will be looking to help the Dragons take a big step in their pursuit of a maiden place at a Women’s European Championship finals, by setting up a round-two contest with Georgia or the Republic of Ireland.
