Vote for Maguire to win Premier League award

Manchester United centre-back Harry Maguire has been named on the six-man shortlist for the Premier League’s November Player of the Month award.

The online poll is now open and you can vote for Harry here.

Maguire’s nomination arrives at the end of a month when United had a perfect record in the division. The Reds won all three league games in November, without conceding a goal, to move within six points of top spot.

Harry played the full 90 minutes in each encounter, starting with a dramatic late victory at Fulham on 4 November.

Despite suffering an early injury, Maguire stood firm in defence and kept things tight for the Reds before Bruno Fernandes’s stoppage-time winner.

Fernandes was recognised as our Man of the Match but Harry was widely heralded, including by manager Erik ten Hag, for his role in the hard-fought triumph.

“He was playing a massive, massive game. A very good performance,” said the boss.

“Harry showed leadership and in and out of possession he was very good. I’m very pleased with that performance from him.”

Maguire remained rock steady the following week as we beat Luton Town 1-0 at Old Trafford in our last game before the international break.

His defensive partner Victor Lindelof was the goalscorer on that occasion, but Harry fared well again and the Hatters rarely looked like troubling Reds goalkeeper Andre Onana.

Our experienced no.5 also helped United overcome a tricky-looking trip to Goodison Park in our final test of the month, marshalling Toffees’ frontman Dominic Calvert-Lewin as Alejandro Garnacho’s wondergoal set us on the way to a 3-0 success.

According to the Premier League, Maguire made the joint-highest number of blocks during the month, and the fifth-highest number of clearances.

The 30-year-old, who is bidding to win the monthly accolade for the very first time, is up against fellow nominees Jeremy Doku (Manchester City), Anthony Gordon (Newcastle), Thomas Kaminski (Luton), Raheem Sterling (Chelsea) and Marcus Tavernier (Bournemouth).

Show your support by voting for Harry on the Premier League’s official website, before the poll closes on Monday 4 December.
