United celebrate against Leeds.

How to watch United v Wigan in FA Youth Cup

Friday 28 February 2020 11:01

Manchester United face Wigan Athletic in an FA Youth Cup quarter-final at Old Trafford on Friday night (19:00 GMT kick-off).

There is free entry for all spectators, with the gates opening an hour before the start, as the two sides compete for the right to meet Chelsea in the semi-finals, following their 1-0 victory over Millwall on Thursday.

Unfortunately, the game cannot be shown live on MUTV as the Football Association have taken up the rights for exclusive coverage. The FA have announced it will be shown on their Emirates FA Cup YouTube channel.

Neil Ryan's team have yet to concede a goal in this season's competition.

MUTV will be screening the game in full from 12:00 GMT on Saturday, while the Official App will provide updates as Neil Ryan's Under-18s aim to continue a run that has seen the team keep clean sheets in each of the matches so far.

If required, there will be extra-time and penalties.

Wigan won the EFL Youth Alliance, EFL Youth Alliance Cup and Lancashire FA Youth Cup last term but suffered a first defeat in any competition since September, against Barnsley last weekend. Nonetheless, they are 12 points clear at the top of that division, and have already knocked Tottenham out of the FA Youth Cup in 2019/20.

Free parking is available for the big game, using N2 on Wharfside Way, and hopefully there can be another good attendance to cheer the boys on after 4,263 fans came to the 1-0 victory over Leeds United in the previous round.
