Garner scores to aid Forest's promotion push
Young Manchester United midfielder James Garner caught the eye on Wednesday evening with a superb goal for loan club Nottingham Forest in their 2-0 victory over Coventry City.
With his side leading by one in front of a home crowd at the City Ground, Garner burst forward from midfield, received the ball inside the box and emphatically powered a first-time finish into the roof of the net.
It’s the third time our Academy graduate has got himself on the scoresheet since February as Forest continue their push for promotion in the Championship.

He created five chances for his team-mates across the 90 minutes, while racking up five ball recoveries and four interceptions among other numbers.
The 21-year-old, who has played in all-but one of the club’s 38 league games so far this season, has become an integral part of Steve Cooper’s side over recent months and is obviously enjoying his second spell at the City Ground, and the opportunity to gain regular experience of senior football.
Garner returned to Forest on loan again in the summer, having spent the second half of last season with the Midlands club, off the back of his first temporary career move, to Watford, earlier in the same campaign.
James is of course set to reunite with the Reds in the summer upon the expiry of his loan deal and if he was to become a more regular part of the senior side, he would add to the seven first-team appearances that he has already accumulated for United so far in his short career.
Last week, having signed a new contract with the club, Bruno Fernandes shared his appreciation of the work Garner is doing from afar, when asked during a Twitter Q&A which Academy player he really looks forward to hopefully playing alongside in the future.

But like on Wednesday night, Garner will no doubt keep his head down over the coming weeks and be fully focused on what he can do to aid his loan club's attempt to return to the Premier League for the first time since 1999.
Forest currently occupy one of the Championship’s four lucrative play-off spots, in fifth, tightly packed into a promotion race in which the teams between the third and 10th places are separated by just eight points.
