Manchester United Women duo Katie Zelem and Maya Le Tissier have been nominated for the Barclays WSL Player of the Month award, after Marc Skinner’s side recorded two wins from two during an impressive September.

The Reds defeated Reading 4-0 on the opening day of the season, in front of more than 5,000 supporters, with Le Tissier bagging a brace on her debut.

Both of Maya's goals were assisted by Zelem, and the United Women captain dispatched a penalty in the emphatic victory too.

Skinner’s side then followed this up with a vital 2-0 away win at West Ham, in which both players played 90 minutes and Le Tissier assisted Lucia Garcia’s opener.

Also on the shortlist for September's award are Rachel Daly and Fran Kirby of Aston Villa and Chelsea respectively, plus Arsenal's Beth Mead and Rafaelle Souza, with all four players enjoying impressive starts to 2022/23.

The public vote for this competition is now open, and will close 10:00 BST on Monday 10 October. The winner will be announced on Thursday 13 October.

Well done and good luck, Katie and Maya!
