Next up on the UTD Podcast: Katie Zelem
Manchester United Women’s captain Katie Zelem is the latest guest to star on the official UTD Podcast.
Zelem sat down with co-hosts Helen Evans, Sam Homewood and Pien Meulensteen for the 94th episode of our official club podcast.
You can be among the first to listen to the chat in the Official App, released at 17:00 GMT on Monday 15 November, where it will be exclusively live for the first 24 hours.
Katie’s episode will then be available to stream via all other podcast providers from the same time on Tuesday.
Our captain goes on to tell us the tale of how she went on to join United’s Centre of Excellence, even if it originally took her younger self some persuading and a trick from her dad!
At 17, Zelem went onto a full-time pathway in the game by joining Liverpool and in the episode, she speaks of the transition into the professional game, followed by her move to Juventus, four years later.
Katie gives a fascinating insight into her decision to come back to the club and the prospect of reuniting with Casey Stoney, as well as telling the story of why she missed the team’s first-ever meeting...
That comes along with a conversation around her current duty as captain in Marc Skinner’s side, what it means for her to be a role model for the younger generations, and why she is passionate about being an advocate for women's rights.
The episode is a fascinating listen and paints a great picture of Katie’s story so far, both on and off the pitch.
A reminder that you can listen to the chat exclusively for the first 24 hours in our Official App before it is released via all other podcast providers at 17:00 GMT on Tuesday.
Be sure to also keep an eye out on ManUtd.com and the app throughout the week for more Zelem content to come your way.
