Kick-off confirmed for Everton v United Women

Monday 04 January 2021 12:00

The kick-off time for Manchester United Women's first WSL fixture of 2021 has been confirmed.

Casey Stoney's Reds will travel to Walton Hall Park to play Everton on Sunday 10 January, in a game which starts at 12:00 GMT.

Fans in the UK will able to watch the action live on the BBC Red Button.

After a three-week hiatus since our last match - a comprehensive 6-1 defeat of Bristol City - Casey Stoney's side will be looking to extend what has been an excellent start to the 2020/21 league campaign.

With eight wins and two draws from our opening 10 WSL fixtures, the Reds sit four points clear of nearest challengers Arsenal - although third-placed Chelsea, who are six points behind, have two games in hand.

Along with the Blues, United are the only unbeaten side left in the division - indeed, by the time our Women make the journey to Merseyside at the weekend, we won't have lost in the league for over a year. The last defeat came on 5 January 2020, 1-0 at home to Bristol City.

That record will be put to the test against a Toffees' outfit enjoying a decent season.

Willie Kirk's Women are fifth in the WSL, and reached the FA Women's Cup final, losing to Manchester City at Wembley in November.

Whatever happens on Sunday, United will remain top going into 17 January's title-race tussle with Chelsea at Kingsmeadow.
