Last chance to volunteer at UEFA Women's Euro 2022

Wednesday 27 October 2021 12:35

The UEFA Women’s European Championships take place this forthcoming summer in England, and UEFA and The FA are offering a final opportunity for fans to apply to be a volunteer at the tournament.

England will kick-off the first match of the tournament at Old Trafford, Manchester, on the 6 July 2022, with the competition running until the 31 July, played across 10 host venues in nine cities around the country.

The FA will have approximately 2,000 volunteers across the country with the aim of making EURO 2022 the best competition in women’s football to date. The women’s game has grown significantly over the past decade with UEFA doubling the prize money and offering financial incentives to clubs who have let their players go to the tournament.

There are a variety of roles available, from improving the match day experience for fans in ‘spectator services’ and helping out the delivery and logistics teams as ‘stadium support’, to being a ‘host city volunteer’, acting as an ambassador and promoting the experience within the city, helping out in fan zones and aiding with public transport for fans visiting from across the continent.

"Volunteering gives you the chance to see the event from a completely different perspective whilst enhancing the major event experience for all guests."

The deadline for volunteering applications is this coming Monday (1 November) with interviews taking place between November 2021 and March 2022. All applicants must be 18 or over and must be able to travel to selected venues through their own means.
