Martinez posts injury update

The Argentinian has been out since sustaining a metatarsal injury in April, in the first leg of our Europa League quarter-final against Sevilla.

Last week, Licha posted an image on his Instagram account with the caption: 'getting closer' as he aims to be fit for United's pre-season.

And on Saturday, our centre-back tweeted a message that is sure to get United supporters excited.

"So happy to be back 100%" wrote the World Cup winner.

This prompted a great response from Martinez's followers, with @adidasfootball replying: "VAMOSSSSSS".

@Shawnifee wrote: "Best defender in the League. Good to have you back, king! "

@DebBrSpence replied: "So glad to hear that Licha. I can't wait to see you playing again. Lots of love ".

The Reds return to Carrington for pre-season at the start of July, and fans will be eager to see if Martinez is part of the first group of players that report for duty.
