Several of Manchester United’s loanees were in action over the weekend, as Tahith Chong sparkled for Birmingham City and James Garner once again proved to be important for Nottingham Forest.

Making his first senior start since October, Chong scored within just two minutes for Blues.

The 22-year-old finished smartly and put in a Man of the Match display as Birmingham recorded a 2-1 away win at Bristol City on Saturday.

On Friday night Nottingham Forest visited Sheffield United in the Championship, and Garner provided the assist for Forest’s late equaliser in their 1-1 draw at Bramall Lane.

Just as the Blades looked to have seen out the three points, Garner’s dangerous corner was met by the head of Ryan Yates to snatch a vital point for the visitors and aid their push for the play-off positions.

Elsewhere in the Championship, Ethan Laird came on as a second-half substitute in Bournemouth’s 2-1 away loss to Preston North End.

The defeat means the Cherries now sit third in the Championship table, one point below Huddersfield but with four games in hand over the second-placed side.

Midfielder Ethan Galbraith was also in action over the weekend, coming off the bench at half-time in Doncaster Rovers’ 4-0 defeat away to Cheltenham.

Brandon Williams played 87 minutes in Norwich City's 3-1 home defeat to Brentford in the Premier League, leaving the Canaries five points from safety.

On Friday night, Nathan Bishop helped Mansfield Town to a 2-1 home win over Exeter City, although successes for Sutton United and Newport County mean the Stags remain outside of the automatic promotion spots.
